As a coach for over 16 years in a variety of male and female specific sports his results are undeniable. His training has assisted student-athletes in excelling at their sports to earning full athletic scholarships to top Colleges and Universities. Most recently, Elite Training LLC. was named the exclusive Speed & Agility, Strength & Conditioning consultant for the Widener University Football Program. Helms designed and implemented the in season and off-season training regiment for the team which showed marked improvement. The athletes received testing prior to the training Helms started which measured speed, agility, strength and directional change ability. By the end of pre-season training each athlete who participated improved in every category by cutting interval time, increasing speed and improved reaction which directly led to their abilities on the field. Similarly, Wayne also trains members the Philadelphia Women’s Rugby Team. Specifically, their core requires specific attention to withstand the constant blows. The women need extensive strength, quick reaction times, the ability to change direction quickly as well as explosive linear speed. With these factors in mind Helms designed their training to meet the team’s unique needs. During the Rugby off season Wayne continued to train one of the team members who is working to make the Women’s Rugby U.S. National Team which will be traveling to Dubai and Florida this winter for International Competition.
